Pokerbol closely monitored the $25K Fantasy League run by Daniel Negreanu during the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP). Nineteen teams competed for a portion of the $475,000 prize pool. With just four teams earning a dime, this was a record-setting year for Team The Dinkers (Josh Kay, Jerry Wong, and company), which set a new mark of 1,437 points, beating out the previous record of 1,204 in 2019.
Team Sternheimer, led by Philip Sternheimer (1,025 points), took second place, earning $125,000; Team Sepiol, under Dan Sepiol’s leadership, placed third, earning $75,000; and Team AJ’s Eagles, under AJ Kelsall’s leadership, ranked fourth, earning $50,000.
John Racener (336 points), Brian Rast (259 points), Bryce Yockey (240 points), Robert Mizrachi (212 points), Chris Brewer (181 points), David Coleman (97 points), Ben Lamb (94 points), and Jerry Wong (18 points) were member of Team The Drinkers.

Sixteen competitors scored 200 points or more, but only three—Jeremy Ausmus (388 points for Team Noori), John Racener (336 points for Team The Dinkers), and Scott Seiver (334 points for Team AJ’s Eagles)—were able to surpass the 300-point barrier.
Doing a cost-benefit analysis revealed that Dong Chen was the best draught target. He was bought by Ren Lin (Team Lady Gaga) for $1 and had 217 points, giving him a 217 Pts/$ ranking. Like Robert Mizrachi (212 Pts/$ for Team The Dinkers), Ari Engel (206 Pts/$ for Team TheCoffeeBreakers), Ash Gupta (168 Pts/$ for Team Oz), Maksim Pisarenko (141 Pts/$ for Team Baker), Christian Harder (128 Pts/$ for Team TheCoffeeBreakers), and Sergio Aido (118 Pts/$ for Team DPMC), six other $1 players supplied excellent value to their respective teams.

Team DPMC received 168 points for drafting Daniel Negreanu, who set a league-high price tag of $132 (1.27 Pts/$), and Alex Livingston received 106 points from Team Lang after paying $110 (0.96 Pts/$). The other expensive players, Yuri Dzivielevski ($90 to Team Lady Gaga) and Shaun Deeb ($104 to Team Lady Gaga), performed marginally better for their respective sides.
While Mike Gorodinsky of Team Wilson and Dylan Destefano of Team NGNF contributed one point, Darren Elias of Team Chingas was the only draughted player in the league who failed to accumulate any points. Finally, Julien Martini (Team Girl Dads) with three points and Craig Chait (Team Lang) with two points rounded out the top five failures.

How does a Single Point define ODB $500 League?
With 709 teams participating, the top 70 won a share of the $354,500 prize fund in the 9th Annual ODB $500 Fantasy League. The $25K Fantasy League was far less close than the ODB League, which came down to the final round. With 1,679 points, Matthew Waxman’s Team Mezlagio won the league and $55,000 in prize money. Team Ihttomlfdwy finished in second place with 1,678 points, but they still earned $33,000. The final score was just 22,000 points.
