Online Rankings July 28, 2024
The poker scene has been active since the end of the 2024 WSOP. The DPT Xpress in Goa has taken some of the limelight, even if you would anticipate the buzz from Las Vegas to flow naturally to online venues. The DPT Xpress has attracted much attention since there is yet to be another big live series in the nation, resulting in extensive overlays on the leading internet platforms.
Notwithstanding this change, Poker Baazi and Natural 8 have kept their strong presence with large guaranteed tournaments, constantly changing the leaderboards. Still, the top contenders in the Player of the Year contest need to be more balanced. With the forthcoming PokerBaazi’s ₹60 Crores GTD Indian Poker Masters starting on August 4 and Junglee Poker’s ₹12+ Crores GTD Azadi Series taking off on August 1, online poker will once more take the stage.
Player Of The Year Prospect: Neel Joshi
Young Gun Neel Joshi would surely be the Player of the Year if the title were to be given today. With a stunning ₹4.70 Crores in victories this year—including a profit of ₹2.76 Crores—Joshi has raised a high standard. He contributed just ₹55,009 to his total this past week, although he has been spending some family time in Germany.
Last month, Neel Joshi, sometimes known as the Natural8 India crusher “HiiiBarbie,” came clean about his identity. He remains a significant player in the poker scene with an impressive 11 seven-figure score this year and a new post as a PokerStars India Ambassador.
Additional Top Contenders
Although Neel Joshi’s advantage may seem impossible, poker is erratic, and anyone can catch fire at any moment. Second-ranked Nishaanth Shanmughasundaram has ₹2.79 Crores in winnings (₹1.96 Crores in profits). His second-highest online score ever for an Indian player—1.97 Crores—from the Beijing Mystery Bounty Millions has confirmed his place near the top.
With ₹2.46 Crores in winnings (₹84.63 Lakhs), household figure in the poker scene Advait Rajguru ranks third on the annual standings. Renowned for his constant performance, Rajguru has unleashed his stats and become a significant rival with 16 trophies this year.
Keeping the POY race open, Sagar Raj (annual winnings – ₹1.93 Crores), “TLB King” Mohawk Kapoor (annual winnings – ₹1.91 Crores), Sashank Chakravarthy (annual winnings – ₹1.89 Crores), and three-time POY Young Gun Gaurav Sood (annual winnings – ₹1.89 Crores) all fit rather nicely.
July Leaderboard: Arya, The July Leaderboard
Having dominated the first week of July, Young Gun Aayush Arya leads the monthly rankings with ₹41.45 Lakhs in prizes (₹28.81 Lakhs in earnings). Arya’s outstanding performance this month totals 35 deep runs—three wins, two podium finishes, and three extra final table appearances. Though he had a relatively quiet week with ₹31,609 in earnings, his spectacular triumph in the Natural8 India Grand Prix Europe 125 for ₹21.38 Lakhs has kept him at the top.
Close behind with ₹38.01 Lakhs in winnings (₹30.40 Lakhs in profits), Neeraj Sattawat holds second position. Sattawat has stayed in contention with 45 deep runs in July and consistent performance with two victories and many podium finishes. Among his successes are a fourth-place finish in the DPT Rush for Adda52 and wins in BSS Big Bounty and Poker Baazi’s The Endeavour.
With ₹36.23 Lakhs in winnings (₹25.36 Lakhs in profits) from seven title wins, six runner-up places, and sixteen final table entries, Ashwin Vijayvergiya rounds out the top three. Thanks to wins at Poker Baazi’s The Big Show, Summit Lite, and Adda52’s Iron Man, his latest week alone added ₹12.31 Lakhs (₹8.62 Lakhs in profit) to his total.
Weekly Leaderboard: Shagun Jain
Renowned two-time Game Changer champion Shagun Jain ranked first weekly with ₹14.10 Lakhs in prizes (₹11.28 Lakhs in profits). Jain’s weekly triumph was much enhanced by his outstanding performance in Adda52’s Mega Millions, where he came runner-up for ₹12.59 Lakhs. With ₹12.43 Lakhs in winnings—₹9.32 Lakhs in profits—Shubham Agarwal placed second on the weekly leaderboard. His triumphs in Thursday’s Summit Lite on Double Ante and PokerBaazi’s The Summit were essential to Agarwal’s achievement.
Notable entries on the weekly leaderboard were those of upcoming players Dayanand Prass (weekly winnings – ₹12.13 Lakhs) and Bikky Gupta (weekly winnings – ₹11.18 Lakhs). Prass rounded out the top five after winning the BSS SuperStack on Sunday; Gupta secured victory in the live and online hybrid Adda52 DPT Rush in Goa.
