Scheduled to take place from September 11–16 at Dusk Till Dawn (DTD) in Nottingham, the much-awaited WPT Prime United Kingdom festival is causing buzz in the poker scene. Often regarded as the birthplace of British poker, DTD has a long history of holding World Poker Tour (WPT) events.
The venue hosted 895 participants in the £560 buy-in WPT 500 last May, therefore generating a £500,000 prize pool. Emerging triumphant, Aleksandrs Golubevs claimed £100,000 and made WPT history.
WPT Prime Championship guaranteed at £260,000
Eleven events spread over six days will be part of the festival; buy-ins range from £120 to £2,200. The £1,100 WPT Prime Championship stands out with a £260,000 guaranteed prize pool, including a package to the WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas.
The Championship has two starting flights: Day 1a starts on September 13, BST at noon; Day 1b starts at the same time on September 14. Starting with a 40,000 chip stack and 40-minute levels, players will use blinds starting at 100/200 and with a 200 sizeable blind ante.
Late registration is open until Level 9 ends; one re-entry per flight is allowed. Comprising breaks every three levels, each Day 1 finishes after 14 levels. Day 2’s levels run for sixty minutes, broken every two levels.
