After winning a record-breaking $4 million for placing third in the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, Swedish player Niklas “Lena900” Astedt wasted little time returning to the online poker tables on Sunday. Astedt continued to dominate after his dominant performance at the WSOP.
The Titans Event, the top weekly high-stakes tournament on PokerStars, included 46 players, including Astedt, and had a prize pool of $5,200. The $230,000 prize pool could only be shared by the top six finishers due to the small but intense field.
Rodrigo “seijistar” Seiji was the first player ousted from the final table of nine; he did not receive a reward for his elimination. Pedro “pm_marke” Marques and bubble boy David “MissOracle” Yan followed him shortly after, and their departures guaranteed that the remaining participants would each receive $12,165.
The bare minimum was won by “lowfoam” of the UK, and another famous player, Michael “imluckbox” Addamo, was the next to go, taking home $17,768.
Juan “Malaka$tyle” Pardo, a Spanish superstar, took fourth place at $25,951; Alexandros “Pwndidi” Theologis, who earned $37,902, went third. This set the stage for a showdown between Astedt and Leonard “Grozzorg” Maue.
Despite a $25,000 disparity between the top two finishers, neither athlete chose to sign a contract. Astedt received a consolation award of $55,358 for finishing second, while Maue took home $80,853 and the tournament winner title.
