What’s going on at APPT National?

One of the biggest events at the festival is the APPT National, and it has lived up to its status as one of the most exciting poker events of the year. The event had a huge prize pool of US$ 218,425 thanks to the 278 people who entered. There are only 56 people left in the game today, November 18, 2024, after two days of intense play. These talented players will return to the tables to cash out and reach the top 39, where they will win money.

For those lucky players who advance to the money round, the minimum prize is US$ 1,480. However, the main prize—US$ 44,680 and the renowned APPT Cambodia Shard Trophy—is what truly excites people. This event is a must-see because each hand the players play gets them closer to winning the poker tournament.

A Look Back at Day 3: A Night of Champions

That was just the beginning of Day 3 at APPT Cambodia. The event crowned three new champions, each taking home a coveted PokerStars spade, a symbol of excellence in the poker world. The winners not only showed great professional skill but also amazing persistence.

  1. The winner of the Superstack event was Jussi Rintalahti from Finland, who won his second PokerStars spade.
  2. Matuphoom Pangsriviniji won the Shot Clock event, which was very exciting and quick.
  3. In the $1,100 Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) game, Leo Kamiya showed that he was the best player, cementing his place in poker history.
  4. These winners have added even more prestige to a festival that was already full of famous people. Their wins serve as an example for both new artists and seasoned pros.

Leading the Pack: Standouts from National Events

At the APPT National, the battle is getting tougher as each player tries to top the leaderboard. Hyeonsik Yun, who has the most chips in Flight A, has set a high bar with 480,000 chips, which are the same as 96 big bets. Anton Poliakov is in second place with 457,000 chips (91 big bets), and he is in charge of Flight B. Poliakov, accustomed to the spotlight, emerged victorious in another heat and secured eighth place before this one. Because he always does well, he is a strong competitor.

Michael Kim Falcon, who got the biggest stack in Flight C, is now in the game. Because he plays strategically and takes calculated chances, he is in a favorable spot going into the next round. In addition to the top winners, the following players are receiving significant attention:

  • Aladin Reskallah had previously won the Warm-Up High Roller title.
  • Today is Yannick Leonard’s birthday, along with the high-stakes game.
  • Both Mike Takayama and Martin Gonzales are Filipino stars who are known for having sharp reflexes and playing hard.
  • As the event goes on, everyone will be looking at these skilled competitors as they try to win the prized title.

Superstack Win: Jussi Rintalahati Stands Out

156 people competed in the Superstack event over two days for a piece of the US$ 39,948 prize pool. Jussi Rintalahti from Finland came into the final table with the most chips, which he kept with outstanding skill and calm. Rintalahti won his second PokerStars spade in a dramatic showdown, solidifying his place as one of the event’s top players.

The last hand was very close. Andrei Budykin went all-in with J♦10♦ and got two pairs by the turn. But the 9♥ on the river sealed Rintalahti’s straight with K♿7♦, giving her the win and stopping Budykin from doubling up. The hand showed how skilled Rintalahti was at strategy and how he could keep calm under pressure.

A thriller set against a time clock: Matuphoom Pangsriviniji’s Big Win

The Shot Clock tournament added a new level of excitement to the fair. With a low $400 buy-in, it drew 90 players. Many players fought for the US$ 23,047 prize pool, culminating in a heads-up match between Matuphoom Pangsriviniji and Gregory Winyard.

Throughout the match, Pangsriviniji’s strategic plays proved to be the decisive factor in his victory. Pangsriviniji won the game with pocket sixes after doubling up with A♣10♦ against Winyard’s K♠3♠. This resulted in a set being played on the final board. His win adds another spade to the long list of things he has done well.

PLO Glory: Leo Kamiya’s Winner Moment

The $1,000 PLO game brought a unique atmosphere to the festival, attracting only 20 players. Despite the low turnout, the stakes were high due to the US$ 19,206 prize pool. Leo Kamiya of Japan won and took home US$ 8,258 after beating Aike Ing in an exciting heads-up match.

Kamiya’s success shows how versatile he is and how well he knows how to play poker. He is one of the most captivating characters in the APPT Cambodia series because he can change to the subtleties of PLO play.

Ultra-fast APPT: Jaemin Kim sets the pace

There was a US$30,000 guarantee at the APPT Hyper Turbo Day 1A, which drew 28 players eager to get into the ITM round. Only five made it to the next round. Jaemin Kim was in first place after winning an amazing 213,000 chips. As the lights go on, Kim’s success sets a high standard for others to follow.

In the main event, the crown jewel waits.

People have been very interested in APPT National and other side events, but soon the main event, which everyone is looking forward to, will take center stage. Starting on November 21, the main event promises a massive prize pool of US$500,000. The best players from all over the world are likely to come to this event, which lasts for several days.

For poker fans, the main event is the most important part. It looks like some of the most exciting parts of the series will happen here, with its high stakes and unmatched status.

Last Words: APPT Cambodia at Its Finest

The APPT Cambodia tournament is still the best live poker game in the area. The festival has a wide range of events with large prize pools, so there is something for everyone. The excitement at NagaWorld Integrated Resorts is unforgettable, no matter how experienced you are or how much you love the sport.

Stay tuned for more news as the event goes on. Don’t miss the opportunity to witness the creation of poker history at APPT Cambodia!
