The League for the 2024 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) has a fresh leader! Sebastian Huber’s Team peace&loove stormed to the top of the standings, surpassing Fintan Hand’s Team easywithces following an intense day of strong competitiveness. Team peace&loovee became the first to surpass the 1,000-point mark with calculated maneuvers and outstanding performances, securing their position as the top runners in the WCOOP League this year.

A Stellar Performance Drives Team peace&loove to the Top

Team peace&loove trailed Team easywithces by 25 points on September 11. However, the landscape drastically shifted following two amazing outcomes in the $55 NLHE Deep Stack and $320 NLHE Deep Stack tournaments. With a dominating lead and a big 235-point increase, these performances pushed Team peace&loove to the top of the WCOOP League.

Squad member “king153246,” who got on the squad via the WCOOP Boot Camp, performed best. Eventually cutting the jackpot with Brazil’s “calcinha92,” they survived almost all the 4,865 contestants in the $55 NLHE Deep Stack. The outcome came with “king 153 246,” a stunning $28,278 and a major addition to the team’s score.

Peace&loove: A Deep Run within the $320 NLHE Deep Stack

Brazilian player “tgrigoletti” kept shining for Team peace&loove, negotiating their path to the $320 NLHE Deep Stack final table. Though they came in fifth place, their $9,391 pay-off and the extra points gained from this performance helped confirm the team’s lead in the league.

The peace&loove WCOOP League standings at the day’s conclusion appeared as follows:

  • Team peace and loove: 1,000 pts.
  • Team simple with aces: 925 pts.
  • Team AAkkari has 865 points.
  • Team Tonkaaaa: 765 points.
  • Team L. Veldhuis racked in 655 points.
  • Team Spraggy has 270 points.

Parker Talbot Eyes $1,050 HORSE World Championship Victory

Parker Talbot’s Team Tonka, now in fourth place, may narrow the difference as Team peace&loove celebrates their new top position. With just 11 players left, Talbot—also known as “tonkaaa—is deep in the $1,050 World Championship of HORSE. Talbot is fourth in chips; hence he is a good candidate for his first WCOOP tournament victory in 2024.

Talbot’s recent WCOOP performance adds to the buzz. Talbot won while costumed as the comic figure Ali G, marking his maiden WCOOP championship a few days earlier. He now has another opportunity to add to his honors, which would greatly improve the standing of his squad in the WCOOP League.

Strong Run by Lex Veldhuis throughout several events

Lex Veldhuis, the captain of Team L., should also be kept on the eye at the WCOOP. Just a few days ago, Veldhuis won his first WCOOP championship of 2024. Hence, he is in the perfect position to guarantee future success. Returning to action in the $530 NLHE Bounty Builder HR, he stands tenth in chips with 20 players left. Veldhuis also has money in the $2,100 version of the same tournament, ranked ninth with 17 players left. Veldhuis is assured of collecting more peace&loove WCOOP League points, possibly improving his team’s situation while both tournaments are underway.

Blaz Zerjav is leading the overall WCOOP leaderboard.

Individual players fight for supremacy on the overall WCOOP scoreboard even as team competition is hotter. With 535 points, Blaz “Scarmak3r” Zerjav leads the pack. Zerjav is third in chips in the $2,101 NLHE Bounty Builder SHR, another event where he may further increase his advantage, so his lead can get even bigger.

Renan “Internett93o” Bruschi from Team easywithaces ranks third, 160 points behind the leader; Zero’s closest rival, Yuri “theNERDguy,” lags by forty points. In the top seven of the overall leaderboard, players from Team Peace and loove, “FAL1st,” and “king 153246,” also have striking distance.

Belarus’s “Igami I€120” Has the Highest WCOOP Score Right Now

Other WCOOP news included Belarus’s “IgamiI€120,” making headlines with the highest series score thus far. Although the Belarusian poker player has always performed consistently in high-stakes tournaments, he has never claimed a WCOOP title. Following a heads-up deal, “IgamiI€120” won the esteemed WCOOP 17-H: $10,300 NLHE Super Tuesday High Roller, netting a huge $189,477.

Though there was great buy-in, 76 players registered for the tournament, creating a $760,000 prize pool. Only nine players turned a profit; Brazilian poker legend Yuri “theNERDguy” Dzivielevski cashed out first with $23,694. Ole “wizowizo” Schemion and Artur “mararthur1” Martirosian made up a gifted team in the last table.

“IgamiI€120” beat Rodrigo “SELOUAN1991” Selouan heads-up in an exciting finish to take the championship and the lion’s share of the prize money. Selouan pocketed $169,296 for his runner-up result; third-place finisher Ole Schemion got $115,078.

WCOOP 17-H: Ten thousand three hundred NLHE Super Tuesday High Roller Final Table Results:

  • “IgamiI€120” (Belarus) – $189,477
  • Rodrigo “SELOUAN1991” Selouan (Brazil) – $169,296
  • Ole “wizowizo” Schemion (Austria) – $115,078
  • “shapkera” (Bulgaria) – $86,193

Peace&loove Great Results All Around WCOOP Events

Sweden’s “mrAndreeew,” who won the $1,050 NLHE 7-Max Bounty Builder HR for $64,776, also had other noteworthy appearances in the WCOOP and won his third title. Along with claiming victory in the $530 NLHE 6-Max Turbo PKO, “mikke8282” brought home $26,372, including bounties.
