This is not a bad beat — WSOP $1M GTD is a disaster!
The 2025 WSOP Online Bracelet Event #7 — a $250 Mystery Bounty event with a $1 million guaranteed prize pool — was abruptly cancelled mid-tournament on Monday night, leaving hundreds of poker players blindsided.
Hosted on the GGPoker platform, the event had already surpassed the $1 million guarantee when Day 2 began. But as players sat down to play, many couldn’t even log in. While some managed to play hands and even claim bounties (including the $100K jackpot!), others were completely locked out due to widespread technical failures.
What Exactly Happened In WSOP $1M GTD?
Many players, were ready to grind Day 2 from the Horseshoe. But the platform refused to load.
“I tried for over an hour – laptop, mobile, WiFi, data – nothing worked,” Reid explained.
“Meanwhile, a guy at my live table said he was in the same event and playing! He was stealing blinds while the rest of us sat out.”
The worst part? Reid — and many like him — never played a single hand. He was automatically blinded out and busted without a chance to act. By the time he reached WSOP support, they admitted they had “no answers yet.”
WSOP’s Official Statement
At 8:21 p.m., WSOP issued this message:
“Today’s restart of Online Bracelet Event #7 encountered technical difficulties that resulted in a high number of players unable to log in. The tournament has been cancelled, and all players who were in the field at the start of Day 2 will be contacted.”
But as of Tuesday morning, several players, including Reid, still haven’t received any follow-up.
Players Demand Action – Will WSOP Respond?
As the dust settles, poker Twitter is ablaze with frustration.
Matt Berkey, high-stakes crusher, called it a golden opportunity for WSOP and GGPoker to regain trust:
“Do something overly generous — ClubWPT gave away $1M to make things right. You should, too.”
Garry Gates, summed it up bluntly:
“This is wild. Most of the large bounties have been claimed. 1,100 players down to 234. Let’s see how they fix this mess.”
What Happens Next?
With the event cancelled and bounties already distributed, serious questions remain:
- Will the prize money be refunded?
- What happens to players who bust without playing a hand?
- Will the WSOP offer compensation?
As of now, no official resolution has been announced. But with the community watching, Pokerbol will be the first to report any updates.
