The 2025 GPI Asia Poker Festival has officially begun in Taipei City, Taiwan. Running from March 28 to April 7, 2025, this 11-day event is drawing poker fans from around the world to the CTP Asia Poker Arena. GPI Asia Poker Festival: A Thrilling Start
The festival kicks off with the Global Poker League (GPL) Team Event, which has become a staple of the GPI Asia Poker Festival. First launched in 2018 as GPL China, the event quickly gained popularity and has since moved to Taiwan. This year, the GPL Team Event boasts a record 23 teams, with Taiwan leading the charge. For players not involved in the GPL, the festival offers a full slate of Master Poker Series (MPS) events. There are 21 events to choose from, with buy-ins starting at NTD 2,500 (~US$75), ensuring there’s something for everyone. A major attraction is the MPS Mystery Bounty, which runs from March 28-30 and features a NTD 1,000,000 (~US$30,400) guaranteed prize pool. Players will enjoy the thrill of drawing for hidden bounties, adding an extra layer of excitement to the competition.
MPS Main Event: The Big One
The MPS Main Event (April 3-6) is the centerpiece of the festival, with a NTD 2,000,000 (~US$60,800) guaranteed prize pool. With a buy-in of NTD 15,000 (~US$455), this event is expected to draw a large crowd, especially after the huge turnout in the previous series. Last year, Po Ting Chen took home NTD 1,058,200 (~US$32,800) after an impressive run, and a similar strong turnout is expected this time.

This event offers a NTD 1,000,000 (~US$30,400) guarantee with a buy-in of NTD 7,000 (~US$210).
