Tran’s Tactical Brilliance: How He Took the Crown

Tran’s path to victory wasn’t a simple one, but it was paved with strategic brilliance and composure under pressure. As the final day began, Tran was in a strong position with a solid chip stack, but the journey to the top was far from easy. His key moment came early in the final day when he took the chip lead from India’s Somashekar Kurkhepally Nahadeva, after making a set on the flop.

Reflecting on this moment, Tran remarked, “I felt my strategy for the final table should be to aim for first place, and I was very confident I could take it down.”

From that moment on, Tran’s game was near flawless. He eliminated key competitors, including Yuanning Wu and Le Ngoc Minh, before facing Nahadeva in an intense heads-up battle. While both players had agreed to split the cash evenly, it was the title that they were both chasing. Tran, however, would not be denied, clinching the victory and cementing his place as the 2025 APPT Cambodia Main Event Champion.

India’s Poker Prodigies: Nahadeva & Paul Steal the Show

Though Tran took the crown, Indian poker stars were not far behind! Somashekar Kurkhepally Nahadeva, who gave a fierce performance throughout the tournament, finished as the runner-up, earning $155,225. His masterful gameplay during the final day kept everyone on the edge of their seats, but Tran’s lead was too much to overcome.

Meanwhile, Abhishek Paul earned a spot at the final table, securing 8th place and taking home $22,970. Both players showcased exceptional skill, and their performances further solidified India’s rising prominence in the poker world.

The 2025 APPT Cambodia Main Event marked a significant milestone for the Asia-Pacific Poker Tour. It was the first time the series had visited Cambodia, and the event was a massive success, drawing top players from across the region. Held at the luxurious Grand Ballroom of NagaWorld Integrated Resorts, the tournament offered a $1,000,000 prize pool, which generated intense excitement among competitors and spectators alike. Though the event fell just short of its prize pool guarantee, it still offered significant value for those who made it to the money.
