For poker enthusiasts, the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) 2024 has been an amazing show; the most recent update offers us still another milestone triumph from a well-known player. One of the most well-known names in online poker, Niklas “Lena900,” clinched his tenth career WCOOP title, therefore adding still another honour to his remarkable résumé. Parker “Tonkaaaa” Talbot also made news with his bagging of his fifth series title.
Astedt Makes $189K and Denies Leonard an 11th Career Victory
One of the most important events on the WCOOP calendar, the $10,300 NLHE PKO Thursday Thrill High Roller, was where Astedt trived. Although 65 great players entered this high-stakes competition, Astedt emerged victorious and took home an incredible $188,988.
Astedt squared off against Patrick “pads1161,” another online poker great and ten-time WCOOP champion, in an exciting final. Before Astedt won another $102,109 in bounty payments, both players locked $86,879 from the main prize pool, leaving Leonard with a total of $130,238. Though the struggle between the two will live in history, Leonard fell just short of his 11th WCOOP championship.
Among the many noteworthy names on the final table were Team PokerStars ambassador Alejandro “PapoAR” Lococo, who placed eighth. Lococo missed any bounties while making the money, which threw an odd twist on his long run in the competition.
