APT Phu Quoc Main: The Way for Erquiaga to Get the Lead

The Filipino expert, who is sixth on the Philippines’s all-time money list, got there by playing smart and getting rid of important opponents. The most famous person he beat was Thieu Nghiem Xuan, who was in 22nd place and had the most chips at the end of Day 2. Later, Erquiaga strengthened his lead by eliminating Choi Dongyeol of Korea in 10th place in a classic race with A♦J♥ vs. A♿3.

  2. 5.080,000 won for Oh Junseok (Korea)
  3. Four and a half million Hu Jinlong
  4. Viet Nam’s Do Tien Vu Costs $4,630,000
  5. Truong Thang Minh (Australia): $3,900,000
  6. 3.38 million Indian rupees to Deepankur Gupta.

  8. 1 965 000 Pham Ngoc Quoc Bao (Vietnam)
  9. Zhang Chu Hao (China): 515 000

Highlights Of A Side Event

Even though the main event is the main event, a number of other events have also ended with amazing wins:

APT Phu Quoc Main Champion of the Zodiac Natalia Rozova, who was born in Russia and now lives in New Zealand, won her second APT title in the Zodiac Classic, beating out 89 other players. The win for Rozova was worth VND 1,550,470,000, which is about US $61,213. It came after a short heads-up match with Nguyen Phuong Ngoc from Vietnam.

Kunal Patni of India continued his outstanding run by winning his second prize of the series in the Baby Superstar Challenge. Patni beat 47 high rollers to win the VND 1,436,070,000 (~US $56,550) grand prize. This is his second win in as many events, after winning the Tick Tock Boom event.

APT Phu Quoc Main Other Significant Wins

  1. Ivan Ermin won the PLO High 4-card and 5-card tournament.
  2. Diego Sanchez Mir won the NLH Heads Up title.

Updates For Two Events At Once

The VND 2.5 billion sure Double Stack event received 415 entries, surpassing the expected number. The prize pool is now VND 3,985,254,000, which is about $156,900. With 1,382,000 chips, Kornkrit Chaveewanitkun from Thailand is in first place among the final 59 players. Fang Puyen from Taiwan and Mason Griffin from Canada are close behind.

A Look Ahead in APT Phu Quoc Main

Nine players are coming back to fight for the Main Event title on the last day, which should be very exciting. There is a prize of VND 352,000,000 (~US$13,860) for each winner, but everyone is looking at the Gold Lion trophy, which is the top prize. The final table of the APT Phu Quoc Main Event will be a memorable poker show, with Erquiaga trying to win his first Lion Trophy and a wide range of skilled players also trying to win.

When the APT Phu Quoc Main tournament starts up again, the blinds will be at Level 29 (50,000/100,000 with a 100,000 BB ante), so there will be plenty of action as these nine skilled players fight for one of the most prestigious poker titles in Asia.
