People in Taipei are talking about the Taiwan Millions Event Championship (TMT), as the first high-stakes event draws a lot of poker fans to the Asia Poker Arena. Event Flight B is a spin-off of the famous Taiwan Millions Tournament. The promise of a massive USD 600,000 prize pool has significantly increased the stakes and garnered significant attention. Based on the number of people who showed up, TMT is likely to go above and beyond predictions and start a new tradition in the Asian poker scene.

The TMT Championship gets attention from around the world. The TMT Championship starts on October 25 and has a full schedule until November 5. Despite a storm temporarily delaying the start of the main event from October 31 to November 1, a significant number of participants have continued to compete. 329 people signed up for Flight A, which was the first flight, and 229 more signed up for Flight B. As players fight for the Event Flight B title, the action keeps getting tougher.

Erwin Ng Wins The Main Event Flight B

Erwin Ng from Singapore was the clear winner in Main Event Flight B. He used the bubble round to build the day’s biggest stack, which was 1,040,000 chips, or about 89 big blinds. Ng was the only player in Flight B to get seven-figure chips, making him a strong contender for the title, along with Andrew Ma, who was the top player in Flight A.

There were 229 entries in Flight B, and 35 made it to the In-the-Money (ITM) round. Many well-known players, such as Ng, Justin Chu, Chi Jen Chen, Manlok Chan, Shyh Chyn Lim, Seunghun Ko, and Shiina Okamoto (winner of a World Series of Poker (WSOP) title), also advanced to the In-the-Money (ITM) round. On the other hand, well-known players like Jereld Sam, Anton Widjaya, Hon Cheong Lee, and Young Mi Kim left early. But they still have two more trips to get a spot.

Philip Wang Wins The Event Flight B

Philip Wang, a famous poker player in Taiwan and a well-known Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) master, won the Big O Event Flight B. It was his 12th career win in this type of poker. Wang won NTD 81,100, which is about USD 2,540, at this event on November 2, 2024. The buy-in was NTD 8,000 (USD 250), and 30 people played. The prize pool grew to NTD 197,900 (USD 6,200), and the top five players each got money. Wang keeps getting better and better at this style, and this win is another one for him.

Event Flight B: Mak Chun Wing Wins The Single-Day High Roller

Mak Chun Wing from Hong Kong won his first poker title in the Single Day High Roller event. Wing kept his lead as the chip leader at the final table to win the event and a big prize of NTD 691,000 (USD 21,635). The event had a buy-in of NTD 40,000 (USD 1,250), and 55 people entered. Nine players received payouts from the prize pool of NTD 1,974,000 (USD 61,800). Wing’s win is a big deal because it’s both his first title and the most money he’s ever won in a single event.

Event Flight B: Eosoo Lee Wins The Nlh Ladies

When Eosoo Lee won the Event Flight B Event No-Limit Hold’em (NLH) on November 2, it was her first poker win. Lee beat 51 other players to win the trophy and the top prize of NTD 108,100 (USD 3,385). A buy-in of NTD 7,000 (USD 220) got you into the event. The prize pool was NTD 300,200 (USD 9,400), and eight people won cash prizes. Along with Lee’s win, there is now more than one winner in this first TMT Championship series.

Event Flight B: Anson Yu Says He Won The Survival Bounty

After winning the Survival Bounty event, Anson Yu got NT$ 200,000, which is about USD 6,130. The event took place on November 2 and had 154 people who paid NT$ 10,000 (USD 313) to join. The top 24 players received payouts from the total prize pool of NT$ 1,314,600, approximately USD 41,160. Yu won first place thanks to his smart play and determination. This is a big win for him in poker.

Event Flight B Championship Keeps Bringing In Players And Fans.

There are still two more flights in the Main Event, and the battle is still very tough. The first round’s losers can try again, making each flight more competitive. There is a lot of energy in Taipei’s poker community right now because of the TMT Championship. The turnout has been better than expected, which shows that Taiwan is becoming more famous in the world of poker.

The Asia Poker Arena’s ability to host this series shows that poker is becoming more popular in Asia. Every game adds to the history of this event, which could become standard in the poker world as more people join.
