Leader in High Roller – Double Stack Event Abhinav Iyer

Rising on Monday by commanding Event #32: TWD 60,000 High Roller – Double Stack, India’s Abhinav Iyer, a WSOP bracelet winner and the 2019 APT Ho Chi Minh Main Event champion, created ripples. Leading chip with 1.598 million chips (100 big blinds) from a field of 182 participants ( 133 unique) Iyer concluded Day 1.

Iyer is totally focused on earning his second APT title given such a strong lead. Having raised heads with his performance, he is the player to surpass into Day 2 of the contest.

Powerful Rivals Not far Behind

Iyer leads; other elite players are right on target. Top on his heels are USA’s Martin Carnero (1.437 million chips) and South Korea’s Wongyu Kang (1.428 million chips). Iyer will have to keep his momentum to keep ahead of these fierce rivals since the battle is intense.

Other Indian Stars Advance on the High Roller

Not only is Iyer one of the Indians influencing the High Roller tournament. To advance to Day 2, another seasoned poker expert, Dhaval Mudgal collected 430,000 chips (27 big blinds). Having been in good form, Mudgal finished runner-up in Event #3 earlier in the season. Already gone to Day 2 of the Main Event, he has shown consistency throughout several events.

Natural8 India Ambassador Nikita Luther joined Mudgal in the High Roller wearing a WSOP bracelet. Though slightly short-stacked with 207,000 chips—13 large blinds— Luther is renowned for her tenacity and ability. With a top reward of more than TWD 2 Million (~$63,285), she is still quite much in the running as Day 2 gets underway.

Great turnout for APT Main Event

Monday saw the second starting flight gather 439 submissions (349 unique), therefore increasing the overall number of participants to an amazing 901, with two more flights still to go in the TWD 50,000 APT Main Event. Players from all around the world fight fiercely for a slice of the huge prize pool.

Leading in Flight B, Malaysia’s Chee Yong Sim bagged an amazing 308,400 chips. Ryan Kim of Singapore with 298,500 chips and Jeremy Chan of Malaysia with 270,300 chips followed closely. As the Main Event moves forward, the top three are in prime posture for a long run.

Team India Strong in Main Event: Five More Athletes Go to Day 2

With five more players moving to Day 2, India’s performance in the Main Event has been equally robust; the overall count of Indians remaining in contention is at 10. having 94,600 chips, Somasekhar Sanampri leads the Indian pack; Yash Khandelwal follows closely having approximately 91,500 chips.

With his recent third-place performance in the N8IN X APT Taipei – India Exclusive Tournament, Khandelwal demonstrates he is in terrific form and ready to go for a long run in the Main Event. Other Indians progressing are live circuit regular Raju Jaruplavath with 55,600 chips, PokerStars India Ambassador Siddharth Karia with 47,200 chips, and Natural8 India Executive Director and Ambassador Kunal Patni with 46,600 chips.

Principal Event Shaping for an Exciting Finale

The Main Event looks to be a fierce and exciting struggle as a strong Indian contingent advances to Day 2. The Indian players will be seeking to build on their strong performances and go farther into the tournament as additional beginning flights are conducted.

APT Taipei Poker Classic 2024: An Event Celebrating Superior Poker

With 31 winners crowned and other fascinating events, the APT Taipei Poker Classic 2024 has already produced outstanding poker action. The Indian players have showed their mettle in the High Roller and Main Event, and as the series goes on all eyes will be on them to see whether they can bring home additional trophies.

This is a tournament to pay particular attention to Abhinav Iyer’s dominating start in the High Roller and Dhaval Mudgal, Nikita Luther, and Main Event players. There is still lots of poker to be played with the series lasting until October 7, and supporters are keen for more interesting results from the Indian contingent.

Will Iyer land his second APT title? Can Team India keep up its remarkable Main Event performance? Though only time will tell, one thing is certain—the APT Taipei Poker Classic 2024 is looking to be a spectacular tournament.
