Michael Wang, from Livingston, New Jersey, won his third World Series of Poker (WSOP) gold bracelet on Friday. He won the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship, beating a field of 874. The victory was worth $1,394,579, as well as a career milestone. That win came on the heels of a big score at the Wynn Summer Classic just a few weeks ago, when he earned $555,528. The third bracelet brings Wang’s career tournament earnings to more than $9.1 million.
A Quick Rise in Poker

It’s been quite the journey on poker for Michael Wang. He won his first WSOP bracelet in 2015, winning a $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em event to take home $466,120. In 2022, he won his second bracelet in the $5,000 eight-max No-Limit Hold’em event, for which he received $541,604. His most recent win, at the 2025 WSOP Pot-Limit Omaha Championship, was both a huge financial success and years in the making. This win marked his third bracelet and gave him 2,280 Player of the Year (POY) points. He is now 21st in the 2025 POY standings and 11th in the PokerGO Tour rankings, with 1,100 more points.
Record-Breaking Event and Strong Competition
The 2025 WSOP $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship drew 874 entries, an increase from 811 in 2024. They created a prize pool of $8,128,200 with the top 132 players making the money. Such big names as Phil Ivey, John Monnette and Robert Mizrachi were in the hunt. Wang’s ability to withstand such a grueling field testifies his ability and tenacity. One of the most dramatic came on Day 3. Wang was down to less than a big blind after losing a massive all-in against Erik Seidel. Yet Wang pulled off a handful of key doubles, and ended Day 3 third in chips. This fight-back showed his fighting spirit and qualification for the latter stages of the event.
Day 4 Action: The Final Table
There were seven players in play for the start of Day 4. Alex Foxen, a three-time bracelet winner, was among them. Foxen was the first player to hit the rail after he lost a big hand to Wang when Wang’s quads counterfeited his wrap draw. Foxen took $182,983 for seventh place, recording his 12th final table finish of the year. Javier Francort and Melad Marji soon also hit the rail. Francort won $245,194 for sixth place, and Marji collected $334,017 for finishing in fifth place. The two players earned their two biggest paydays of their careers.
Wang Surges to Victory
Wang continued to turn heads in the later stages of the event. He added to his chip stack when he then eliminated Sean Rafael in 4th place for $462,451. That led to a two-handed match between Wang and Michael Zulker.
Zulker had trip tens in the final hand of the tournament while Wang held jacks full. Wang’s whole house then held to deliver his win after an intense turn and river. For his runner-up finish, Zulker was also awarded $929,688, the result far ahead of his previous best cash, $120,358.
